Today in class we talked more on the question of "How do geographers describe where things are?" We found that geography is the study of where things are on Earth's surface and the reasons for the locations.
There are two other common geography questions we asked - "Where can people and activities found on Earth?" and "Why are they found there?" The answer to the first question is a map, and I don't know the answer to the second question. A map is a 2D flat-scale model of the Earth's surface (or a portion of it). A man by the name of Eratosthenes made the first world map in 195 B.C. On maps, there is something called latitude which is a geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south location of a point on Earth's surface. Latitude is measured by imaginary lines running parallel to the equator and is measured in degrees.
