Y N0t 2 #16-More Philosophy

Today in class we took a more detailed look at Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.  We reiterated the fact that Socrates taught Plato everything he knew and was put to death for teaching kids how to think.  His defense in the trial was that, well, that he was guilty.  He admitted to his crimes and proclaimed that he should be rewarded.  When given the chance to escape, he decided not to, for that was against what the people had voted.  He supported Athens and democracy more than his life.  Plato, who wrote the Allegory of the Cave in Socrates' defense, started a school called the academy where a guy named Aristotle learned everything he knew.
